Clustering vCenter Server 4.0 Using Microsoft Cluster Services

Yes, and I will tell where to find the document VMare just made available for us 🙂

Basically this document goes over the steps to successfully implement a high availability solution for vCenter Server 4.0 using Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS).

No need aymore to spend a big chunk of money for this Neverfail solution, over pricy and difficult to implement.

There are some limitations unfortunately:

  • vCenter Server Linked Mode is not supported on vCenter Server with MSCS setups.
  • All the hosts and clusters will be reconnected and reconfigured on the new setup and this might take some time depending on the size of the environment
